Sweet Peas Paper Wallet!

As you see, I have a slightly different project to share today... It is a paper wallet! With a sweet image from Flourishes in the "window". I am entering this "card" to the "by the sea" challenge at Flourishes. After all, the Sweet Peas are blue...*lol*.
I thought this wallet would be great for moneygifts, and this is how I did it:

I made a foldercard from plain, brown cardstock. Made the oval window with a nestabilities die. Ran it through the cuttlebug to emboss it.
Then, I distressed it with Walnut Stain. At the end I clear embossed the whole thing to give it a realistic look. The straps were made with a gorgeous (I think) "Burberry" paper, eyelets and buckles.
The wallet is held together with a metall brad and a small magnet.
Oh, and the image is colored with Distress Inks.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

  2. Å fyttigrisen! Så vannvittig elegant! Genialt å bruke embossing for å få papiret til å likne krokodilleskinn! Mektig imponert over likheten til en ekte lommebok!
    Du er utrolig flink, vennen!

    Ha en super dag! Go'klem

PS! Hvordan har du stilt inn symaskina din, for å få så jevn og fin rettsøm i papir???

I thought that this was a REAL wallet and you just inserted a painted/stamped image into the "lil window"..I thought *cute*

..Then, looking closer I realized that I just ordered that Cuttlebug mosiac press and I realized how you used it to make the faux croc LEATHER for your PAPER wallet!

  39. Well, of course, this just stopped me dead in my tracks...end of visiting. I've been here staring for the longest time now. I've seen these wallets before, I've done the clear embossing on this very folder, but oh, my WORD, this is so incredible!! It looks absolutely real, and I'll bet it feels almost real, too. I love the plaid with the "leather" and your choice of Sweet Peas for the window. I'd love to have a real wallet exactly like this, including the Sweet Peas!
